Good to know
Digital tally counters are electronic circuits with switches and liquid crystal displays. All digital counters require batteries to operate. When the battery is low counters do not work or they malfunction. Batteries must be replaced at least once a year even if the counter is not being used at all. Failure to do so may result battery leakage that can also damage other components in the counter.
Replacing batteries in most models (other than ergonomic counters) require removing tiny screws in order to access the coin battery holder assembly.
Batteries are widely available online and in hardware stores, major office supply outlets and many dollar stores.
Many digital counters beep instead of clicking and the beeper can be silenced if needed.
